HISTORY

Over a decade ago, a businesswoman, Ms. Jane Daly, spoke with the Archbishop of San Juan, Reverend Roberto González Nieves and informed him of her desire to make a difference in the lives of young, underprivileged children of Puerto Rico. The archbishop suggested that Ms.

Daly visit Colegio Sagrada Familia in Lloréns Torres. Ms. Daly and a group of friends visited the school and were immediately won over by the beautiful children and deeply moved by their interest in obtaining a good education.

In January 2013. Ms. Daly was informed about the Archdiocese not having adequate resources to continue subsidizing the school and would be forced to close the school in May 2013. As a result, in February 2013. The Rising Stars Foundation was established to support educational opportunities primarily for at-risk children from low-income backgrounds. The Rising Stars Foundation envisions a school that will inspire in young students, at an age when they are most impressionable, a love of learning, an understanding of their culture and heritage and an enduring sense of responsibility for each other as well as for their community.

Since then, Ms. Rising Stars Foundation has been on a crusade, working tirelessly around the clock to keep Colegio Sagrada Familia open to the community. Colegio Sagrada Familia serves as a vital tool in the development of the beautiful children of Llorens Torres, offering them a safe haven in a stimulating and safe learning environment that fosters a love for learning and sense of responsibility for themselves, their families and their community.

Among many efforts, Rising Stars Foundation has met with prominent business and educational leaders who have all shared their time and expertise freely for this cause. This collaboration resulting in a novel plan that not only saved the school, but that transformed it into a model school with the latest advances and trends in the education profession.

Today, Sagrada Familia School students graduate with high academic scores, attend numerous organizations and places where they enrich their knowledge and learn from all the opportunities available to them to be leaders of tomorrow.
